It was recently announced that The Forest Bookshop has gone through to win the Independent Bookshop of the Year Award for the South West England and Wales region and is now one of five UK bookshops shortlisted for the national Independent Bookshop of the Year Award 2009.

The Independent Bookshop Award, 'The Nibbie', was presented to theHungerford bookshop at the British Book Industry Awards  on Monday 1 June 2009.  Sadly we didn't win the national award, but remain the best in the South West and Wales region - one of the top five independent bookshops. in the UK.

The coveted and prestigious 'Nibbie' is regarded as the Oscar of the British book world and we are up  against strong competition from the four other bookshops. But we have got this far, so who knows?
