Simply titled 'The Forest of Dean: photographs by Chris Morris', the book's subject matter covers many of the cultural and traditional features that make the Dean so unusual an area. 128 pages of of vivid contemporary photography celebrate the working freeminers, 'commoners', salmon fishermen and a coracle maker; there is a section on art and artisans, another on the remnants of the extraordinary industrial history and reference to the author's work with schools.

Jan Royall (Baroness Royall of Blaisdon - leader of the opposition in the Lords) writes in her foreword: ‘… a superb introduction to the wonderful Forest of Dean and everything that makes it special'.
